Nature and Natural Park

The ranges of hills of the Hainleite, Windleite, Schmücke and the Hohe Schnecke dominated by large woods of beech trees determine the landscape of the Kyffhäuser Region. Here you can enjoy untouched nature. The whole variety and diversity of life fields can be experienced in the Natural Park Kyffhäuser in the middle of which the Kyffhäuser Mountains are located. 


So the park got its name from. Waters, salt springs, moisture meadows and other special kinds of meadows and lawns, fruit-growing areas, rocks and caves can be discovered on 240 square kilometres. So 30 species of orchids are flowering here and it’s also the home of wild cats.
